Clubhouse Door 1

Clubhouse Door 1:

Circles

Feel seen, heard and understood as you gather with other carers and bereaved carers.

Allow yourself space to breathe in a judgement free zone.

Experience the magical moments when you fill up your cup through relaxation, community and reflection.

In-person and online Circles are held each month, meaning you can join one that suits you.

“I have attended Carers Club events both online and in person, and have gotten so much out of them. The connection with other peers is so validating and Emma is the most beautiful facilitator. She creates a space that is so open to share and also perfectly respects your need for silence and space if that’s what you need that night. So grateful for the creation of this community, it’s certainly helped me feel more seen and supported, and less alone.”

— Kate Fisher, Milkshakes for Marleigh

“I recently attended one of The Carers Club online Circles. Emma was a warm and welcoming host who provided a safe space taking us through some heart opening activities. It was so nice to make time to reflect, be heard and to be still in a guided meditation. Emma effortlessly provides understanding and support as she speaks from a place of true empathy, which comes from years of experience as a carer and also as one being cared for.”

– Treena Pritchard, Canberra, Australia

What to Expect

from a Carers Club Circle?

What to Expect Circles
  • Circles are open to all carers and bereaved carers!

  • They run for about 1.5 hours – sometimes a tad longer if people are wanting to chat 😊

  • Online Circles are over Zoom. Our Clubbers just love logging on in their PJs, while tucked into bed with their favourite beverage in hand.

  • In-person Circles are held on the Sunshine Coast – one in Caloundra and one in Coolum, allowing us to cover both ends of the Coast!

What to Expect Circles
  • Private Circles can be hosted in your own home or venue if you wish to gather some of your friends.

  • Circles can also be held for businesses, organisations and community groups at your own site.

  • We gather together to share our stories, learn from each other and get some much needed relaxation in. Add in some meditation, tea and yummy treats.

  • Our Circles reflect our values: connection, compassion and candour.

  • Special guests often lead the Circle in an activity. We’ve had meditation teachers, sound healers, The Movement practitioners, journaling coaches and many more!

  • There is never any pressure to share or to turn your camera on (for online). Of course, we would love for you to share in this safe space, but you will never be forced too.

What should I bring to Circle?

Just yourself! But to be extra prepared …

    • A candle to light at the beginning and to blow out at the end

    • A journal and a pen

    • A journal and a pen

    • A small blanket if you want to feel snuggly

What to keep in mind

To keep our Circles a safe space for everyone, we have 3 agreements:

1.

What is said in Circle stays in Circle. Confidentiality is crucial. Please do not repeat details of what others shared.

2.

Please do not offer advice unless a Circle member has asked for it. Sometimes all we want is a space to ‘vent’ with no one trying to ‘fix’ everything.

3.

After each share, we acknowledge we’ve heard the member.

Living with COVID-19, we ask you don’t attend in person Circles if feeling unwell. Our carers love highly vulnerable people in our community and it’s our duty to help keep them safe. I’m fully vaccinated and provide hand sanitiser and a clean environment for all Circles.

“This is the power of gathering: It inspires us – delightfully – to be more hopeful, more joyful, more thoughtful: in a word, more alive.”
